Surrey Support Map - aiding a Whole System Approach to the wellbeing of children and young people

The Surrey Support Map has been developed to aid school-based staff, wider services, and partners. It assists the implementation of a progressive and preventative strengths-based, whole-system, restorative and trauma informed approach to the health, wellbeing, inclusion and achievement of children and young people; strengthening a Surrey Healthy Schools culture.

This approach embraces the recommendations of the NICE Guidance, Social, Emotional and Mental Wellbeing in Primary and Secondary Education, and supports the Surrey Health and Wellbeing Strategy, Thrive Framework for System Change, and the Time for Kids, Parents, Carers and Practitioners principles.

There are a wide range of services available across Surrey and the map highlights some of the key support that is generally freely available to state funded schools across the county. Within the map services have been placed to encourage early engagement. Services can be accessed effectively at several stages, dependent upon need. Additional helpful information, signposting, guidance and training opportunities is contained within the Surrey Healthy Schools Self-Evaluation Tool.

The Surrey Support Map is progressive in design, not all services will be required for all children and young people.
