For many families in Surrey it’s difficult to know how much sugar, saturated fat and salt they’re consuming. Some foods that people think are healthy such as yoghurts and cereals often contain hidden sugars.
Kids might seem fine on the outside but too much sugar and saturated fat can lead to the build-up of harmful fat on the inside that we can’t see. This can cause weight gain which might lead to serious health problems as they get older. With over a quarter of Surrey’s 10-11 year olds carrying excess weight it’s important to look at what your children are eating.
